live in the now

I am a planner. There is not a day I go without thinking what is in store for the next day, week, month, semester, or year. No wonder my #1 strength is futuristic.

This morning, while reading my Advertising textbook, I got to thinking. Why can't I just "live in the moment"? It is because my Lilly Pulitzer planner is always open on my desk and my Blackberry alarms are going off every hour. I am always thinking about what is coming next.

This is both a blessing and a curse. It's not that I don't love being organized and futuristic, but I think one of my New Year's Resolutions is going to be to pay more attention to the moment. I need to live in the NOW. Because before I know it, I will be graduating from the best university in the world. Then what? If only my futuristic-self could plan that far ahead.

  1. I know where you are coming from. If I could offer any suggestions, go sit by the pylons or the duck pond and just ponder about things. It is really relaxing and a definite in the moment kind of feeling. Hope it helps!
